Every life is a vocation. This is the mission if Inscape, the organization out of which this book was born: to help every person to discern, embrace, and live out their unique, personal vocation.

Often, in the Catholic Church, people pray for an “increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life”. This is good. But what about a prayer for personal vocations, a prayer that each and every person might live out the vocation that God gave them? Of course, this will naturally result in an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life — but also in an increase of faithful, joyful men and women living out a myriad of vocations in every walk of life.

Inscape was founded by Catholic entrepreneur Luke Burgis, Entrepreneur-in-Residence at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, and Dr. Joshua Miller, a leader in narrative psychology and vocational discernment.

Every Christian has, as part of the very structure of their own vocation, the responsibility to help others discover, embrace, and live out their own. It is in losing ourselves, and giving of ourselves completely in service to others, that we truly find ourselves. This is the guiding philosophy behind the mission of Inscape and the book Unrepeatable: We must be vocation mentors and midwives to the personal vocations of others. In doing this, we discover our own.
